Hi reader,
If you're reading this, I'm currently soaking up the sun at my very first all-inclusive resort—and I'm probably already mourning having to come home. What's better than lounging by the pool, eating an irresponsible amount of food, and getting burnt to a crisp? Doing it all with a good book, of course.
So let's dive in.

There's finally some real momentum happening with Let Me Stay.
I've been struggling with it, as I mentioned before, but I think I've finally pushed through whatever was holding me back. The biggest issue? I didn't actually know where the rest of the story was going.
Now I do.
...I hope.
It's still a first draft, so naturally it's a complete mess and will need far more editing than I'd like. I also keep accidentally creating plot holes in Let Me Go while writing book two, so that's been... fun.
But despite all that, I'm excited again. And honestly, that's the most important part.

If you've recently joined my little corner of the internet (welcome! 🖤), then you might not know the vibes for Let Me Go.

If any of that sounds like your kind of chaos, Let Me Go might just be your next obsession.

Soooooo...
I'm no longer a teacher.
WHAT?!
Yep. I've officially left my nice, stable job with a reliable salary.
Why?
Well... it's pretty hard to build an author brand on social media when there's a chance your students could find you. And let's be honest—you've seen some of the FILTH I write.
Imagine walking into work on a Monday morning only to discover a bunch of sixteen-year-olds have found the scene where Eli... you know... uses a knife.
Absolutely not.
Now, don't worry—I'm not being reckless. I'm definitely not making full-time author money yet, and I won't be for a while.
Instead, I've taken a new administrative job that'll give me a lot more freedom and flexibility while I keep building my writing career.
Am I taking a pretty hefty pay cut?
Yes.
Do I have to move back in with my parents for the first time in nine years?
Also yes.
But they've been incredibly supportive of this slightly terrifying little adventure, and I'm so grateful for that.
Here's hoping it all works out.
And thank you for being here for my journey—I love you all.

Make It Hurt — Stella Hart
My hairdresser recommended this because we both love a good dark romance.
She did not steer me wrong.
I finished it in less than 24 hours.
Villains & Vices Duet — Morgan Bridges
Dangerous psychopath inmate × criminal behaviour psychologist?
Say less.
This duet was SO good. I loved every second of it.

Till Summer Do Us Part — Meghan Quinn
I fell in love with Meghan Quinn's writing when I discovered the Vancouver Agitators series during my return to reading, and she's been an auto-buy author ever since.
This book was absolutely hilarious.
The FMC accidentally lies to her boss about being married, convinces her best friend's brother to pretend to be her husband (their first meeting is marriage counselling, naturally), and then they end up trapped together on an eight-day couples' retreat with all of her colleagues.
The chaos is unmatched.
Tainted Embrace — Maria Raye
I have not...
...and will never...
forgive this book.
That's it.
That's the review.
Proceed with caution.
P.S. I read so many other amazing books this month, so if you want to see everything I've been reading, check out my Fable here:
Love,
