Hello and welcome to the next instalment of Olivia Jane style ramblings:

I’ve finished the first draft of Let Me Go! It still needs a lot of work before it resembles the final version, but the bones are there.

And that ending… I’m not saying anything, but I had to sit with it for a while after writing it.

So now I’m starting book two of the duet: Let Me Stay.

Honestly? It’s a little harrowing. Things get worse before they get better—but I promise it’s worth it.

Also, I don’t know if anyone remembers that I started writing an MC romance series—but it’s still happening. I’m not focusing on it too much right now while I finish the duet, but it’s shaping up to be three standalones.

Each one has a badass, motorcycle-riding, leather-wearing FMC—and men who worship the ground they walk on.

Their energy? Channeling Elle Woods: “What, like it’s hard?”

The Obsession Between Us

So… Emily and Eli officially flew the coop last month.

If you’ve already read their story, I really hope you loved it 🖤 And if you have, feel free to reply to this email with your thoughts because I genuinely love hearing from you.

And if you haven’t read it yet…

Uhhh. What exactly have you been doing?

Go bump my babies to the top of your TBR immediately before I send Nate and Enzo to deal with you.

Current Blurb Draft for Let Me Go 👀

So… this might be the blurb? Maybe?

This is very much still a work in progress, but this is the current vibe living in my head right now:

Survive. Survive. Survive.

It’s the only instinct I have left. For years, I’ve been a ghost, haunting the shadows to stay alive. In my world, trust is a luxury I can’t afford, and my body is the only currency I have left to bargain with.

But what happens when three men refuse my payment?

They offer me a sanctuary I don’t know how to handle. They show me that not everyone is a devil, but life has shown me exactly what happens when your guard is down.

Jude sacrificed his voice for me two years ago, saving me from a fate worse than death. And now he stands guard over my nightmares.

Caleb provides a tenderness I never thought I’d feel, treating me like I’m something cherished rather than used.

Ash is abrasive, cruel, and everything I should hate—but he’s the one teaching me how to fight, handing me the weapons I need to find my backbone.

They protect their own.

But as my past closes in, I have to wonder… am I really one of them?

This is not final.
I repeat: NOT FINAL.

But I needed to share it because I’m vibrating with excitement and keeping things to myself is apparently impossible.

What my brain does when left unsupervised:

Remember my demon mumblings from last month?
Yeah… that got me thinking.

We’re all told the same thing as kids:
“Keep your feet under the covers so the monsters can’t get you.”

And I couldn’t help but wonder… do monsters ever get tired of this assumption?

Like. Why are we all collectively deciding they’re obsessed with feet?

And thus, this was born:

Why do humans think all monsters have foot fetishes?

Honestly, I’d rather not have a mortal’s stinky stumps anywhere near me.

Yet they insist on hiding their wriggling little toes as if I’m going to come along and have a nibble.

It’s insulting. Idiotic. Completely uncalled for.

“Keep your feet under the covers so the monsters can’t get to you.”

Fools.

If anything, I’d be less likely to come near you if your feet were on display. They gross me out.

I have absolutely no idea what this is yet. Beginning? Middle? Unhinged side note? Definitely not an ending.

But it is something.

So… will I be venturing into monster/demon romance (or smut)?

Maybe.

82nd Street Vandals Series – Heather Long

I did not expect to get this hooked on such a long series. Usually, by the later books, things start to drag, feel repetitive, or lose a bit of their spark—but not this one. I was all in from beginning to end.

Nine books. Nine.

It took me about a week and a half to get through them, and honestly? I couldn’t put them down. The characters had me in a chokehold.

Was I ready for it to end?
Yes. Let’s be real—I’d just read nine books in the same world.

But did I love every second of the ride? Also yes.

Highly, highly recommend.

The Time Traveller’s Tongue – J. L. B. Harvey

This book put me through it emotionally. I was genuinely tearing up at one point.

Rafe and Lina… AHHHH.

The twists completely caught me off guard, which is rare for me—and I loved it.

I’m not usually a fantasy girlie, but the world-building here was spot on. Just enough to pull you in without ever feeling overwhelming or slow.

Also, it’s beautifully written, which made it even better.

Honestly? Everyone should read this.

Bluebell House Duet – Tate James and Jaymin Eve

I already adore Tate James’ writing, so pairing her with Jaymin Eve? Yeah, I knew this was going to slap.

And it absolutely did.

This had pretty much everything I love in a why choose romance:

  • hurt/comfort

  • protective MMCs

  • emotional trauma

  • an FMC slowly learning her own strength

Basically catnip for me.

Now, as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t usually gravitate toward younger characters—but they were all in their early twenties (except for the sexy professor 👀), so I let it slide.

Both books completely pulled me in, and by the end I genuinely wasn’t ready to leave these characters behind.

Definitely recommend.
