I wish I had a dramatic update for you, but this month has mostly been me staring at my laptop and then immediately deciding I deserve a snack instead.
Between the holiday, moving house, and starting a new job, Let Me Stay has been sitting patiently in the corner waiting for me to get my life together.
The weird thing is… I still think about it constantly.
At one point, I genuinely thought I couldn’t write at all because I hated what I’d written for Let Me Stay. I was convinced I’d completely lost it. Then I went back, re-read it properly… and actually fell in love with it again. That was a fun emotional rollercoaster.
So even though the word count hasn’t moved much, I don’t think I’m disconnected from the story—I think my brain has just been doing all the writing in the background.
I’m hoping September is the month I finally stop outlining scenes in my head and actually put them on the page.

You’re probably here because you’ve read at least one of my books (if you’ve read all of them, I love you a little bit extra). But just in case you’ve recently stumbled into my little corner of the internet, here’s the quick introduction.
The Murderously Romantic series
If you like dark romance with emotional damage, morally questionable men, obsessive love interests, and characters who actually go to therapy but still make terrible decisions, you’ll probably get along with my books.
And if you’re in the mood for something a little lighter (don’t worry, it’s still dark), I also have a complete standalone:
With Him, Always

I want to write. I genuinely do. I just haven’t had the time or brain power.
But my new job is great, and my coworkers are all so lovely. I keep having moments where I realise I’m not carrying around the same constant stress I was before, which is a very weird feeling.
Living with my parents again hasn’t been as strange as I expected either. It’s actually quite nice having people around, eating dinner with someone else, and occasionally being handed a drink without asking.
It’s definitely not where I thought I’d be at this point in my life, but it feels like a reset in the best possible way.

I’ve got a 152 day reading streak, and honestly, I’ve been keeping it alive out of pure stubbornness.
With everything changing at once, I haven’t really wanted to read much. I’ve been forcing myself to read a little every day just so I don’t lose the streak, which feels very on-brand for me.
That being said, I’ve still managed to find a few books that reminded me why I fell in love with reading in the first place:
Fallen God Duet — Gabrielle Sands
Who doesn’t love a mafia romance?
People I simply do not understand.
This man was so down bad for her, and I ate up every second of it. Give me a dangerous man who becomes unexpectedly soft for one woman and I will fold immediately.
The soft-but-lethal MMC will always own me.

While She Sleeps — Montana Fyre
Normally, taking two whole weeks to finish a book would send me into a full existential crisis. (This is coming from someone who has genuinely read three books in a single day.)
But, as I mentioned earlier, life has been a bit chaotic lately. And I’ve kind of loved that these characters have been hanging around with me for longer than usual.
Dark, addictive, and one of those books that keeps creeping back into your head when you’re supposed to be doing literally anything else.

Killers and Kings Series — Leigh Kelsey
This series was completely and utterly unhinged.
One of the MMCs has two cocks.
Yes.
I’m going to say that again.
Two cocks.
And then there’s the scene with the devil’s tongue. The devil is also the father of the double-cocked monster.
I genuinely don’t know how to explain this series without sounding like I’ve had a fever dream.
It’s wild. It’s addictive. It’s deeply, deeply fucked up.
Do not go into these books expecting a normal dark romance. Go in expecting to question your sanity, your taste in fictional men, and every life decision that led you to turning the page instead of closing the book.
