Let’s Talk Books & Writing

What’s Your Next Favourite Read?

Hi Reader!

I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting updates from my world, both as a writer and a reader.

What I've Been Reading in 2025 📚

As you may know, I’m an avid reader, and I thought it’d be fun to share some of my favourite reads this year. Have you read any of these yet? If not, I definitely recommend adding them to your TBR list.

The Saint View Series by Elle Thorpe:
If you’re into reverse harem and motocross romance, this series will keep you hooked.

1. Saint View Psychos

2. Saint View Rebels

3. Saint View Slayers vs Sinners

I literally couldn’t put these books down. Each trilogy is part of an interconnected world. She has other books that take place earlier in the timeline, so there’s more to explore if you get addicted like I did (Nine books in three days… I mean, wow). Just a heads-up, the content is definitely dark, so if that’s not your vibe, you might want to skip this one.
Have you read this series already? Let me know which book was your favourite!

The Blackwood Institute by J Rose:
This is a dark and twisted trilogy.

The FMC (main character) struggles with schizophrenia and is sent to a cutting-edge mental institution. It’s intense, dark, and features reverse harem. Trigger warnings are essential for this one.

The Temporary Wife by Catharina Maura:
Standalone but part of an interconnected series.

This is a workplace, billionaire romance with a marriage of convenience. It’s not dark romance, and honestly, I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s perfect if you're in the mood for a lighter read but still want something captivating.

Her Saint/His Sinner by Harmony West:
Another dark romance—this duet is thrilling.

The FMC is stalked by her favourite author (she’s his biggest fan and she has no idea who he is), and the twist? He’s also her student. It’s intense, emotional, and the MMC—Saint—was just chef’s kiss perfect. Do you have a favourite dark romance trope? Hit reply and share!

Sometimes He Loves Me by Sherylin Alyssa:
This debut novel is a must-read.

Emma and Finn’s story had me hooked from the first chapter. It captures emotional manipulation and the struggle to break free from a toxic relationship. I highly recommend this if you're into gripping contemporary romance.

Writing Updates ✍️

Now, let’s talk about what I’ve been working on lately—because there’s so much coming up!

The Colour Of Revenge:
It’s in the final stages with my editor and will be released next month (OMG!). Nate and Carina’s story is one that’s so special to me, and I can’t wait for you to dive in.

I’ve made a few tweaks to the cover, adding more vibrant colours after seeing the printed version. I also decided to include the subtitle. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the updated design!

The new and updated version!

The old version!

Book Two of My Murderously Romantic Series:
This one’s Tess and Kai’s story! You’ll meet them in book one. It’s not quite ready for beta readers, but here’s a quick explanation: beta readers get early access and provide feedback on the plot, characters, etc. If you’re interested, fill out this form, and I’ll be sending out links towards the end of the month. [Beta Reader Form]

Some tropes you’ll see in book 2:

  • Messy x control freak

  • ❤️Opposites attract

  • 🫠Reluctant friends to lovers

  • 💀Touch her and die (she’ll kill you because his aim is awful)

Book Three – Enzo’s Story:
I’m not revealing his love interest yet, but I will give you this little tease: if you beta read book two, you’ll meet her at the end. 😏

I’m only 20,000 words into book 3 and I’m not much of an outliner when it comes to writing, but here are some of the tropes I’m playing with so far (subject to change):

  • Childhood best friends

  • Avenger her

  • Touch him and die

  • Secret undercover agency
